APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING

The Apprentices Act, 1961 was enacted with the objective of regulating the programme of training of apprentices in the industry by utilizing the facilities available therein for imparting on-the-job training. The Act makes it obligatory for employers in specified industries to engage apprentices in designated trades to impart Apprenticeship Training on the job in industry to youth to develop skilled manpower for the industry.

This document details about the various functionalities under Apprenticeship scheme in the public module of the MIS portal and the features are as follows:

  1. New Establishment Registration and search.
  2. Region & State wise Establishment Search.
  3. Candidate Registration on portal
  4. State wise Apprentice Search.
  5. Candidates apply for Apprenticeship in Establishment.
  6. Verification of the enrolled Apprentice
  7. Authentication of Apprentice profile.
  8. TPA and APY Guidelines.
Establishment Registration
  1. Establishment need to register themselves on Public Portal under Establishment Registration option for Apprenticeship and the Establishment details will be saved into MIS Database.
  2. After registration a mail will be triggered to Establishment’s registered Email ID along with the activation link.
  3. Once Establishment click on activation link, it’ll be redirected to MIS public page with the Establishment Registration no. and simultaneously a mail will be triggered to establishment registered Email ID along with MIS User ID and password for apprenticeship.
  4. After Activation of Establishment, user ID & Password would be accessible for logging in MIS system and process further (refer MIS Manual).
  5. Once Registration process is complete, that registered Establishment will go to NPIU/SPIU for Approval.
  6. SPIU/NPIU can Approve/Reject Establishment. On Approval, establishment would get rights to to perform further in MIS. On Rejection, establishment profile will be De-active in system. Apprentice Registration and Apply
  7. Apprentice need to register themselves on Public Portal under Apprentices Registration option for Apprenticeship and the Apprentices details will be saved into MIS Database.
  8. Once Registration process is complete, an email will be triggered to the registered email ID of apprentice with activation link, once apprentice will click on Activation link, it’ll be redirected to MIS public page with the Unique Registration Number.
  9. Apprentice will search the Establishment and apply for apprenticeship Training.

Public portal of MIS application has been designed as a comprehensive platform for external as well as internal users of DGE&T to allow timely and transparent flow of information. The web portal will have information such as, details of establishments and apprentices if they want to participate in the Scheme, period of training, trade of training, tracking of apprentice after training etc.

To access, type the address in the address bar as: https://ncvtmis.gov.in/. User will be redirected to the Home page of the Public Portal.

DBT is designed to provide information on, how the Establishment can process DBT payments in batches and can perform the following functionalities as listed.

  • i. Attendance and Stipend - Establishment
  • ii. View Payroll Details
  • iii. Process Payment
  • iv. View Payment Details

An apprenticeship is a paid on-the-job workplace program relevant to a particular industry. Employers drive the structured process that combines hands-on experience and training with classroom instruction. Businesses can take advantage of the apprentices' skills while apprentices gain knowledge and expertise to help them advance their careers in a specific field.

Customized training and job security

Employers teach apprentices skills pointed to the specific needs of the business and train individuals to meet specific industry and company standards. Someone else more qualified who completed traditional schooling might perform well but not according to the business's unique specifications and processes. Employers can ensure desired and exact results by customizing apprentice duties and directing knowledge and outcomes resulting in highly skilled employees for the work that needs to be done. This also helps solidify your value to the business and competency to achieve at levels rendered satisfactory to the business, which means heightened job security.

Apprenticeship Act, 1961 was enacted with the following objectives;
  • To regulate the programmed of training of Apprentices in the Industry to conform to the syllabi, period of training etc. as laid down by the Central Apprenticeship Council; and
  • To utilize the facilities available in industry for imparting practical training with a view to meeting the requirements of skilled manpower for industry.
  • All India Trade Test (AITT) for Trade Apprentices are conducted by National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT).
  • National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) is awarded to those who pass the AITT.
  • NAC is recognized for employment under Government/Semi-Government Departments/ Organization.

Implementation of National Apprenticeship Promotion (NAPS) Scheme through establishment by enrolling candidates in the designated and non-designated trade for a period of 1 year.
